Darryn Peterson transfers to Prolific Prep (California) from Huntington Prep (WV)

Kentucky basketball target Darryn Peterson is transferring to Prolific Prep in California.

Kentucky target and five-star shooting guard Darryn Peterson has transferred to his third school in four years as he leaves Huntington Prep in West Virginia to Prolific Prep in Napa California.

His father, Darryl Peterson II, announced the move Monday on Instagram.

Peterson, a 6-foot-5 guard who’s one of the most prolific scorers in the Class of 2025, is originally from Canton, Ohio. He played his Freshman and Sophomore years for Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy.

Peterson recently narrowed down his list to Kentucky, Kansas, Louisville, Washington, Ohio State, USC, Arizona State and Kansas State.

The 6-foot-5 guard earned third team MaxPreps Junior All-America honors last season with averages of 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

Peterson excelled for Phenom United at the Adidas 3SSB Palmetto Road championship event, averaging 28.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 4.2 steals and 3.0 blocks per contest to guide his squad to the quarterfinals in Rock Hill.

Prolific Prep finished the season ranked No. 4 in the National Top 10 last season after going 33-6.
