Darryn Peterson set to visit Kentucky basketball later this summer

Five-star guard Darryn Peterson will visit Kentucky basketball this summer.

When new Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope began to recruit for 2025, one of the names high on list list was Darryn Peterson, who Pope offered soon after he took over. He is still very interested in bringing him to Lexington.

Peterson visited Kentucky previously, when John Calipari was still the coach. When the coaching change happened, Peterson didn’t jump to conclusions and move on from the Wildcats. Instead, he listened to Pope, and is still considering the Cats.

Ranked as the number three player in his class by 247sports, Peterson is rated five stars. He’s the top ranked combo guard in the country, and is the number one player out of West Virginia.

Peterson has offers from a number of programs, including from Coach Cal, now at Arkansas. The Huntington Prep star will be making visits this summer, including one to Lexington and the new staff. They’ll certainly use that visit to lure him down I-64 to Kentucky.
