Darron Lee, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker?
The Bengals don’t figure to be on the market for another linebacker right now — but it sure doesn’t seem like Lee minds the idea of joining the team.
Wednesday, Dave Biddle of CBS Sports suggested the Bengals should go get the former Ohio State star — and Lee responded to the idea in an interesting way, as seen below.
Lee, a first-round pick by the New York Jets in 2016, spent last year with the Kansas City Chiefs and struggled, earning a 36.3 grade at PFF.
Still, Lee is just 25 years old and the Bengals have completely remade the linebacker unit. The front office added Josh Bynes in free agency before drafting Logan Wilson, Akeem Davis-Gaither and Markus Bailey — then added intriguing undrafted free agents like Marcel Spears. They all join promising second-year ‘backer Germaine Pratt.
Promising as that all sounds, it couldn’t hurt for the Bengals to add another name and let the best players win roster spots and snaps. And finding guys who are enthusiastic about joining the Bengals and turning around the franchise has been a theme of the offseason.
