Darnell Mooney has very high expectations for Bears heading into final 8 games

Darnell Mooney believes the Bears can run the table in the final eight games of the season.

The Chicago Bears have returned to Halas Hall after a much-needed bye week, where players got a chance to rest and, for some, get healthy heading into the second half of the season.

While the Bears are sitting at 3-6 after having lost four straight games, wide receiver Darnell Mooney is feeling good about his team’s chances in the final stretch of games. As in, he believes they can run the table over the next eight weeks.

“11-6 sounds really, really good,” Mooney told reporters Monday. “We can do it. There’s nothing in front of us that we can’t handle, so we just gotta go out there and do it.”

Last season, the Bears lost six straight games before winning three of their final four games. Not exactly the same as winning eight straight games — something Chicago didn’t even accomplish in 2018.

It certainly doesn’t help that the Bears have a tough stretch of schedule in the final half of the season, where they’re set to face the Ravens, Cardinals, Packers, Seahawks and Vikings, twice. Although, they do also get the Lions and Giants.

While anything can happen in the NFL, the Bears winning their final eight games — or even six of the last eight to make a run for a postseason berth — would require nothing short of a miracle.

Sorry, Darnell.
