The PvP servers for Dark Souls: Remastered, Dark Souls 2, and Dark Souls 3 on PC are currently offline following reports of alleged security exploits.
Over on Reddit, user TripleBrownMeow shared an announcement from the Elden Ring Subreddit Discord server about a Remote Code Execution (RCE) exploit in the PC versions of Dark Souls that allows hackers to run “arbitrary code” on players computers. According to the post, this RCE exploit allegedly lets hackers partake in malicious activities on your PC, like steal login and banking information or even brick the hardware itself.
The exploit appears to be in all of FromSoftware’s modern titles with multiplayer features, with some users allegedly finding it in Elden Ring’s demo code.

Dark Souls publisher Bandai Namco gave its thanks in the thread soon after and promptly took the PvP servers down to remedy the issue. On Sunday, the official Dark Souls Twitter made an announcement regarding the situation.
Anyone playing these games on PlayStation or Xbox consoles need not worry, as the issue seems to be exclusive to the PC versions.
This downtime does not affect PvP servers for Xbox or PlayStation consoles.

As of Monday at 9:50 A.M. PDT // 12:50 P.M. Bandai Namco has yet to update everyone regarding these reports.
