The Washington Huskies pulled off a shocking upset when Danny Sprinkle and his coaching staff earned a commitment from four-star power forward Niko Bundalo.
The 6-foot-10, 215-pound prospect is ranked as the nation’s No. 31 overall recruit and No. 8 player at his position by 247Sports and became the third high schooler to join Washington’s 2025 class, alongside four-star guards JJ Mandaquit and Courtland Muldrew.
Early on in his tenure, Sprinkle has shown to be an impressive recruiter, as Bundalo’s signing brings the Huskies up to No. 12 in the 2025 class rankings according to 247Sports. During his Monday press conference, the head coach took a minute to discuss his new signee who is originally from Ohio, but plays his for Prolific Prep in California, and how everything came about with the Huskies.
“We jumped in hard and we had known about him previously,” Sprinkle said. “He [took visits to] North Carolina, UConn, Michigan State, and Ohio State, and for whatever reason, after the visits, it just wasn’t working out, and we were in contact with his coach and his people and we knew it wasn’t working out, and that’s when we jumped in quicker than anybody.
He also dove into what Bundalo will bring once he steps on the court.
“Niko is a very versatile four-man who is going to be a tremendous Dawg,” he continued. “His skill set for being 6-10 is unique. He is very long and is one of the best rebounders in the country. He can really rebound out of his area which is a unique skill. He is a good three-point shooter and skilled on the perimeter which will stretch the floor and create some mismatches. He is still growing, his potential is limitless.”
