Danny Sprinkle offers injury updates following Washington’s exhibition

The Washington Huskies trounced Division II Western Oregon in an exhibition game, but need to get healthy before their season opener.

The Washington Huskies ran away from Division II Western Oregon in their exhibition game on Tuesday night, with coach Danny Sprinkle’s team coming away with a 105-68 game. As the Huskies prepare to open the season with UC Davis on Tuesday, November 5, Sprinkle said a few players are dealing with various ailments.

Great Osobor

Osobor has been recovering from an illness that caused him to be absent from Washington’s media availability and kept him to just 17 minutes in the exhibition.

“He still needs to get in better shape like a lot of them,” Sprinkle said. “It’s no excuse for any of them. But that sickness is kind of going around for everybody. Our guys got it, too, and it’s kind of lingered for about three weeks.”

Luis Kortright

The Rhode Island transfer is expected to be an important part of Sprinkle’s rotation in the backcourt, but is in concussion protocol and was unable to participate in the exhibition. Sprinkle added that he expects Kortright to return by the season opener.

Chris Conway

The Oakland transfer adds plenty of versatility to the frontcourt thanks to his ability to play both power forward and center, but the Huskies will be without his services to begin the year, as Sprinkle said the 6-foot-9 senior is out indefinitely.
