Danielle Hunter sets new Vikings record

Hunter continues to set records on the field

Not much has gone right for the Minnesota Vikings so far against the Detroit Lions, but one of the highlights has been the play of star defensive end Danielle Hunter. Hunter has been a force in the Lions backfield all day today, and that play has allowed him to set a new Vikings record.

With his efforts today, Hunter has reached 22 tackles for loss on the season, more than any Vikings player since 1999, when the NFL started recording tackles for loss as an official stat. That performance has helped the Vikings stay within striking distance of the Lions, as the offense has once again struggled to get anything going.

If Minnesota is going to make a comeback and keep their playoff hopes alive, they’re likely going to need some more big plays from guys like Hunter.
