Danielle Hunter listed as franchise cornerstone Vikings should never get rid of

Last season, Hunter had his second straight 14.5-sack season and became the youngest player in NFL history to pile up 50 career sacks.

We know Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter is one of the best defensive ends in football.

NFL.com’s Gil Brandt thinks he’s more than that. Brandt has Hunter listed as one of the 12 players in the league a franchise should keep for the entirety of his career.

Last season, Hunter had his second straight 14.5 sack season and became the youngest player in NFL history to pile up 50 career sacks.

The good news for the Vikings is that Hunter, who is only 25 years old, is under contract through the 2023 season. At that time, he’ll still only be 28 years old and still has at least one big contract ahead of him.

The dude is gonna make some money.

With 54.5 career sacks, Hunter already ranks 154th on the all-time list.

Hunter was an absolute steal when the Vikings drafted him in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft. With Everson Griffen’s departure this offseason (Griffen has yet to sign with a team), all eyes will be on Hunter.
