One of the best to ever wear the Razorback uniform had a historic day at the plate in Arkansas’ series-clinching win over Ole Miss on Sunday afternoon.
[autotag]Danielle Gibson[/autotag]’s three-run home run in the top of the 5th inning moved her past Miranda Dixon for the top spot in Arkansas Softball’s all-time RBI list with 148.

In Sunday’s historic game, Gibson went 3-for-4 with two of those hits being home runs. In addition to scoring three runs with her 5th inning blast, Gibson added to her career RBI total by hitting a solo shot in the top of the 7th inning, which now sits at 149. Sunday’s game was also the third time this season that Gibson has hit multiple home runs in a single game this season.

Gibson is on pace to have her most successful season of her career at Arkansas. Through Sunday, the senior from Murrieta, Calif. is batting .495 with 13 home runs and 39 RBI, while striking out only six times. Her best season statistically was last season, where she hit 13 home runs and scored 51 runs while batting .355.
In four seasons at Arkansas, as well as one season at Arizona State prior to transferring into the Razorbacks’ program, Gibson has recorded 189 RBI. Gibson entered the season with 110 career RBI, one behind teammate Hannah McEwen. Currently, McEwen sits at 131 career RBI.
