Chris Cote, one of the producers of ESPN’s The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, was among those let go by the network in a round of layoffs this week, which was criticized publicly by former ESPN legend Bob Ley on Twitter.
Cote tweeted on Sunday about the news, thanking ESPN management and the show for the years he worked there.
But on Wednesday, that was reversed, thanks to Le Batard himself.
The host announced he was hiring Cote as a “personal assistant” and that he would actually give the producer a raise.
There was much rejoicing at the news when he announced it:

ESPN laid off Chris Cote, a producer on the Dan Le Batard show, last week. Dan announced on the show today that Chris will stick around and that Dan is paying his salary + a raise.
