Two of the most important players on the Oregon Ducks’ roster, running back Bucky Irving and cornerback Khyree Jackson, missed some time on Saturday in the game against the Washington State Cougars.
In the case of Jackson, the star cornerback missed the entire game after suffering an apparent shoulder injury a week earlier against the Washington Huskies.
Irving went down with an undisclosed injury early in the fourth quarter but eventually returned to the field for the final drive of the game.
On Monday night in his weekly press conference, head coach Dan Lanning offered a brief update on both players’ status going into this week’s game against the No. 13 Utah Utes.
“I think those guys will be good to go this weekend,” Lanning said. “They were both out there at practice today.”
Irving leads the team with 649 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Jackson has been the team’s No. 1 cornerback. Without Jackson, the Ducks turned to a combination of Jahlil Florence, Trikweze Bridges, Dontae Manning, and Nikko Reed last weekend.
