The Oregon Ducks finally figured things out on the offensive line during their Week 3 blowout win over the Oregon State Beavers.
After giving up 7 sacks and rushing for only three yards per attempt in the first two games of the year, the Ducks didn’t allow any sacks on Dillon Gabriel against the Beavers and paved the way for 7.5 yards per attempt on the ground.
There is a hope and expectation that this isn’t the ceiling for the Ducks’ offensive line, though, as they continue to get healthier. Indiana transfer guard Matthew Bedford has yet to play meaningful snaps this season after suffering an injury in fall camp, but he has been practicing over the past few weeks and suiting up for games.

On Wednesday, during the Oregon bye week, head coach Dan Lanning as asked during a post-practice interview if Bedford would be able to return to the field after the week off.
“I think this week and next week will be a great opportunity for us to see that,” Lanning said.
Talk about a non-answer.
Anyone who expected the Ducks’ head coach to give a definitive answer about Bedford’s availability hasn’t been paying attention to the way that Lanning operates. The fact of the matter is that we likely won’t know if Bedford is ready to play until the offense takes the field down in Pasadena against the UCLA Bruins.
In the meantime, though, it’s been good to see the Ducks’ OL get up to speed and put some good film on tape to get the confidence up going forward.
