The game everybody has been waiting for is finally approaching. The Colorado Buffaloes and Deion Sanders travel to Eugene on for a huge showdown with Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks on Saturday.
Prior to the season, Lanning took an apparent shot at the Buffs when asked about Colorado’s decision to leave the Pac-12 for the Big 12: “Not a big reaction. I’m trying to remember what they won to affect this conference when they were part of it. I don’t remember.”
Suddenly, Oregon-Colorado is a huge top-25 matchup of undefeated teams, and the Buffs are looking dangerous as they try to make a run in the Pac-12 with conference play starting.
However, during his press conference on Monday, Lanning said he doesn’t regret those comments, per Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire:
“No, I don’t regret anything that I’ve said for this program. At the end of the day, obviously, I wasn’t talking about Deion’s team. I was talking about the past and the future for our team. But if that serves as material for them great. I don’t think it’s going to have any bearing on the game or the success of the game.”
Last week, we saw Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell give the Buffs bulletin board material, although the Rams gave their all for the entire game in a near upset.
Now, the Buffs might have Lanning’s comments on their mind, although getting pumped up for the biggest game of the year isn’t going to be too difficult.
