Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold left the field after suffering a foot injury in Detroit’s 31-9 win over the Vikings in Week 18. He could not put any weight on his right foot as he was helped off the field, and was subsequently carted into the locker room.
Detroit head coach Dan Campbell offered a small but positive update on Arnold’s status after the game.
“I’ll know more tomorrow (Monday),” Campbell said at the end of his postgame press conference. “It was obviously enough to where he couldn’t finish the game. Take that for what it is.”
A follow-up question asked if the team’s medical staff had already x-rayed Arnold. Campbell indicated that the X-rays were negative, “but he was pretty tender.”
The Lions won’t play until the weekend of January 18th, which gives Arnold–and several other wounded Lions–at least 13 days to heal up before they take the field again.
Update: Colton Pouncey of The Athletic added this from Arnold himself,
Lions CB Terrion Arnold said he’s waiting on X-rays after suffering a foot injury Sunday. Doesn’t know the severity of it yet. Said he’s gonna do everything in his power and put it in God’s hands to be able to return.
Arnold: “I’m tryna get right, be out there with my boys.”
