In what was a frustrating afternoon for the New England Patriots, they were defeated by the Buffalo Bills, 33-21. Damien Harris rushed the football 18 times for 103 yards and three touchdowns. However, New England’s own errors were the larger story of the day.
New England was their own worst enemy on Sunday. Offensively, they converted only one third down in 10 opportunities. Quarterback Mac Jones threw two interceptions, with a 31.4 passer rating being his lowest of the season.
Defensively, New England gave up 314 passing yards to Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen. In total, the Patriots’ defense surrendered 428 yards on the afternoon. It was a difficult day all around for New England, as noted by running back Damien Harris in his postgame media availability. With this loss, the Bills now have control of first place in the AFC East.
