The Vikings have not had a good 2020 season, but running back Dalvin Cook has.
With Cook’s 115 rushing yards against the Cowboys on Sunday, Cook eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark on the season.
Through nine games played (Cook missed a game with a groin injury), Cook has 1,069 rushing yards on the season, a mark that ranks second in the NFL. Only Derrick Henry, who has played in 10 games this season, has more — by a difference of just 10 yards.
Cook leads the league with 13 rushing touchdowns and with 118.8 rushing yards per game.
The fourth-year running back is on pace for 1,782 rushing yards on the season, which would be more than 600 yards than his career-high he set last season.
Cook’s next opportunity to add to his total will be in Week 12 against the Panthers at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Panthers rank 20th in rushing yards allowed, so there should be an opportunity for Cook to thrive.
