Former Alabama wide receiver [autotag]Amari Cooper[/autotag] is set to enter his eighth season in the NFL, his first with the Cleveland Browns.
Cooper was originally drafted by the Raiders in 2015, but was traded to the Dallas Cowboys 2018.
After a successful three-and-a-half seasons with Dallas, Cooper entered the next level of his game and was a clear WR1.
The Browns managed to land Cooper for next to nothing; a 2022 fifth-round pick and swapped sixth-round picks.
With Cooper gone, Cowboys quarterback Dan Prescott loses a major weapon, but still has CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and James Washington. The wide receivers unit lacks depth beyond those three.
Recently, Dallas tight end Dalton Schultz explained that Cooper’s absence is felt by the offense.
“We’re a better offense with [Cooper],” Schultz said via ESPN. “Unfortunately, we don’t have him, and so I think the next step is having guys step up. I think there’s room to grow in a bunch of other aspects of the game.”
Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Amari Cooper and other former Alabama players in the NFL.
