The Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves meet in Game 2 of the best-of-7 Western Conference Finals at Target Center Friday. The Mavericks lead the series 1-0. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Mavericks vs. Timberwolves odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Mavericks covered as 5-point road underdogs in a 108-105 win in Game 1 Wednesday as the Over (207) hit. According to ESPN, Dallas had just a 21% win probability with 3:19 remaining, but G Luka Doncic led a strong close for the Mavericks with 15 of his 33 points coming in the 4th quarter.

Mavericks at Timberwolves picks and predictions

Prediction

Mavericks 101, Timberwolves 100

Moneyline

The MAVERICKS (+180) continue to be undervalued by the market in road games. Dallas is 3-0 straight up/ATS in its last 3 away games and is holding opponents to just 102.3 points per game over that stretch. A veteran team that is fully committed on the defensive end of the court should be pretty consistent on the road.

The Timberwolves’ best player is a 22-year-old in Edwards. He seems worn down after a 7-game series against the Denver Nuggets, while G Kyrie Irving (30 points in Game 1) seems to just be getting started after conserving energy and picking his spots against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

BET MAVERICKS (+180).

Against the spread

The Mavericks +5.5 (-110) should hit, but Dallas ML at plus money is the better opportunity if you’re looking to take advantage of a higher payout.

PASS. Bet Dallas ML and/or the total instead.

Over/Under

The Under hit in all 4 regular-season meetings and wasn’t far from cashing in Game 1 despite a 60-point 1st quarter. The Timberwolves were the No. 1 defense in the NBA this season, and the Mavericks seem to be getting better defensively throughout the playoffs.

Nothing about this game screams Over to me, especially if Conley isn’t available to facilitate the Timberwolves offense.

BET UNDER 207.5 (-110).
