The second go-round for Ezekiel Elliott with the Dallas Cowboys is concluding.
It was reported Tuesday the NFC East team is releasing its former star running back.
Elliott had 226 rushing yards this season. He was a backup to Rico Dowdle. This is the fourth straight year Elliott’s rushing numbers have slipped.
Released by the #Cowboys, Ezekiel Elliott now heads to waivers.
Out of respect and appreciation for his Cowboys history, Dallas wanted to provide him the opportunity to pursue any potential playoff opportunities. If he clears, he’ll be a free agent. pic.twitter.com/fVJ0knsSGN
