The Dallas Cowboys (12-5) punched their ticket into the NFL playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the NFC. They join 13 other NFL teams focused on Super Bowl LVI, which takes place Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
After a rough stretch in November, the Cowboys finished off the season on a high note by going 5-1 in their last six games – including a 51-26 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 18. They have had an up-and-down season, with disappointing losses to the Broncos, Raiders and Cardinals, but Dallas’ arrow is pointing up.
And despite having the top-ranked offense in points and yards, it has been the defense that has helped carry this team. The Cowboys allowed the seventh-fewest points in the NFL and picked off a league-high 26 passes.
The offense was led by QB Dak Prescott, who set a franchise record with 37 touchdown passes, racking up 4,449 yards in 16 games; he missed one game due to injury. RB Ezekiel Elliott topped 1,000 yards rushing again and scored 12 total touchdowns, while WR CeeDee Lamb finished the year with 1,102 yards on 79 catches.
This is a well-rounded team capable of beating anyone, but there will be questions about their weak schedule and lack of a statement win.
