Dak Prescott is the biggest Pro Bowl snub thanks to Aaron Rodgers

Dak deserves it more.

This is the online version of our morning newsletter, The Morning WinSubscribe to get irreverent and incisive sports stories, delivered to your mailbox every morning.

The NFL’s annual Pro Bowl is a generally unwatchable game stuffed between the two best Sundays of the NFL season, so we shouldn’t get too worked up about it as fans.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t see an obvious snub and make noise about it. Which we’ll do right here.

This year’s teams were announced on Tuesday night and the biggest snub seemed to come at QB in the NFC. Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers got the call.

Dak Prescott did not, which is a joke.

Wilson and Brees are deserving of the selection. Rodgers is not and seems like he made it once again just because of his name and what he’s done so far in his legendary career.

Prescott might be the victim of the circus type of season the Cowboys have had. They’re 7-7 and sitting atop a very sloppy NFC East. Rodgers, meanwhile, is sitting pretty with the 11-3 Packers who sit atop the NFC North.

But lets look at some individual numbers. Prescott is second in the league in passing yards with 4,334. Rodgers is 11th with 3,481.

Prescott is 12th in passing percentage at 65.5. Rodgers is 18th at 63.3.

Prescott is 8th in TDs with 25. Rodgers is 9th with 24.

Prescott is 12th in passer rating at 99.3. Rodgers has the slight edge at 10th with a 100.4 rating.

So yeah, the numbers seem to be in Prescott’s favor.

Prescott, besides his stellar play, deserves a lot credit for keeping the Cowboys together during some tumultuous stretches. Being the QB of a team that is always under the microscope is no easy task and he’s once again been the leader they’ve needed.

He also gave us those sweet warmup moves.

Rodgers? He’s going to end his career as one of the best QBs to the play the game but this year he has six games in which he’s thrown only 1 touchdown pass and two games in which he’s thrown zero TD passes.

Are we splitting hairs here? Maybe a little. But that’s what we do as sports fans.

It just feels like Dak has done more than ARod to get the call to Orlando. Tho he’ll probably still go because Rodgers usually backs out of this game.

But still, Dak deserves it more!

Tuesday’s biggest winner: Fallon Sherrock.

Sherrock made history Tuesday in London as she became the first woman to beat a man at the PDC World Championship darts event. Even if you’re not into darts you have to see the awesome reaction by the huge crowd when she nailed the historic game-winner. I need to go to one of those events now.
