Dabo Swinney on Clemson’s win over Florida State, Tigers’ continued improvement

Clemson continues to improve.

In the lead-up to Saturday’s game against Florida State, Dabo Swinney challenged Clemson to prove itself on the road as part of its journey from being good to achieving greatness. The Tigers took that challenge to heart, coming away with a 29-13 win over the Seminoles and pushing their record to 4-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in ACC play.

Despite the victory, Swinney stressed that the team has more to work on if they’re to reach the next level. “It’s all about consistency and finding areas to improve,” he explained, emphasizing that growth will come from refining details and maintaining focus. Clemson’s next task is a road game at Wake Forest, which Swinney views as another opportunity to build on their recent success.

With their four-game winning streak lifting them to No. 10 in the AP Poll, Swinney acknowledged his team’s effort and toughness. Still, he remains focused on the long haul, reminding everyone that greatness isn’t achieved overnight. “Great teams perform week after week. We’ve had some strong wins, but there’s more work to do. Four wins are just the start—now we have to keep moving forward and improving.”

Clemson’s bounce back from Week 1 has been outstanding.
