Say the name Marc Curles in Arkansas and you’re bound to see someone wince.
Curles, one of the Southeastern Conference’s lead officials, is slated to work Saturday’s Texas A&M-Arkansas contest in AT&T Stadium.
If you’ve been a fan of Arkansas football very long, you are aware of games that Curles has been a part of that ended poorly for Arkansas.
2009 against defending national champion No. 1 Florida in the Swamp. His crew was actually suspended after that one.
The LSU game just last year in Fayetteville, where a fumble recovered by Arkansas was given back to LSU and then Jalen Catalon was ejected via a questionable targeting penalty.
In fact, his crew was embroiled in controversy just last week in the Memphis-Mississippi State game.
So if any calls happen to go against Arkansas that affect the outcome tomorrow, Curles would be wise to turn his phone off for the foreseeable future.
