Colorado guard Elijah Parquet was among the group of seniors honored — although he didn’t play — on a very special senior night in February, one that no player or fan will ever forget as the Buffs upset the No. 2 Arizona Wildcats. Now, Parquet is looking to use his final year of NCAA eligibility elsewhere, and he is set for a visit to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas this weekend, per basketball insider Adam Zagoria.
Best known for his stout defensive play, Parquet was averaging a career-best 6.9 points per game last season before he was sidelined with a foot injury on Jan. 27 against the Washington Huskies. Through 18 games played, he managed to shoot 44.3% from the field and had 13 blocks and 14 steals. As a junior in 2020-21, he was named to the Pac-12 Conference All-Defensive Team.
Last season, the Runnin’ Rebels of UNLV finished with an 18-14 overall record and a 10-8 record against other Mountain West opponents. Notably, they went 2-0 against the Colorado State Rams, who finished the season at No. 24 in the AP Poll and earned an NCAA Tournament bid.
