CU Buffs Player of the Game vs. Utah: Jabari Walker

Jabari Walker’s second half barrage was big for the CU Buffs

As we’ve now seen him do several times this season, Jabari Walker’s second half was a pure joy to watch. The Colorado Buffaloes sophomore star walked all over Utah in the final 20 minutes to lead a ferocious 81-76 comeback win on Saturday evening.

His second half barrage included 16 points on a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, and a clutch 7-for-7 from the stripe to help out in crunch time. Walker’s 22 points and 13 boards on the night gave him his third consecutive double-double and his 12th on the season.

After picking up his fourth foul of the game with 13:41 left to play, his second half performance was a gutsy one that balanced both aggressiveness and caution. Tad Boyle said Walker showed great “maturity” with his ability to play smart and avoid his fifth foul.

For those reasons and more, Jabari Walker is an obvious choice for our player of the game.

Colorado improved to an even 7-7 in Pac-12 play and will begin a three-game road trip at Oregon State on Tuesday.
