The past 10 days haven’t been easy for the No. 11 Colorado women’s basketball team. After starting slow and ultimately falling to Oregon State and Utah, the Buffs are riding their first two-game slide of the 2023-24 season.
Regarding the looming NCAA Tournament, CU earned a No. 1 seed (fourth overall) in the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee’s first top-16 reveal last Thursday. However, following Friday’s 77-76 loss to Utah, the Buffs are now a projected No. 3 seed, according to ESPN.
College women’s basketball bracketologist Charlie Creme updated his March Madness projections on Tuesday and the third-seeded Buffs were matched up with No. 14 seed North Texas. Each of the 16 teams that earn a top-four seed host first and second-round games, so Colorado remains in position to play postseason basketball in Boulder.

In Tuesday’s USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll, Colorado also fell three spots to No. 11.
The Buffs will look to knock off No. 7 USC at the Galen Center on Friday.
