According to Colorado football assistant trainer Lauren Askevold, Deion Sanders’ recent surgery that aimed to fix blood clots in his legs was a “huge success.”
In an interview with Brian Howell of BuffZone, Askevold said that “things are looking up” in regard to Sanders’ left foot, which had a pair of toes removed about two years ago due to blood flow issues.
“Since the last surgery, tremendous change,” CU assistant trainer Lauren Askevold, who has worked closely with Sanders for the past two-and-a-half years, told BuffZone. “He has 100% less pain. Our goal is for him to be able to run here soon, like by this time next year.”
Coach Prime was told prior to the surgery in June that amputation of his left foot was a possibility if the blood flow issues continued.
Now, Askevold revealed that Sanders has regained some feeling in the bottom of his foot. This latest update is certainly encouraging and Askevold added that she’s confident Sanders will be lively on the sidelines this fall.
