Penn State’s busy recruiting weekend may result in a major commitment flip in the Class of 2024. Coming out of the weekend, two recruiting experts cast a crystal ball prediction in favor of Penn State for a four-star wide receiver currently committed to Oregon.
Among the visitors to Penn State’s campus this weekend was four-star wide receiver Tyseer Denmark, from Philadelphia. Denmark committed to Oregon last fall but could be trending more in Penn State’s favor as the recruiting calendar unfolds. Denmark’s visit to Penn State is notable given his previous commitment status. There could be something to it with 247Sports director of football recruiting Steve Wiltfong and 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn each casting an updated crystal ball prediction of a flip from the Ducks to the Nittany Lions.
Denmark is a big recruiting target for Penn State, and the commitment to Oregon has not taken him off the to-do list for James Franklin and his staff. Penn State has yet to secure a commitment at the wide receiver position in the Class of 2024, and gaining the fifth-overall player in Pennsylvania to fill that need would be terrific for the Nittany Lions.
Penn State’s Class of 2024 currently ranks seventh in the nation on the 247Sports composite rankings, one spot behind Oregon and third among Big Ten programs (Michigan is no. 2 and Ohio State is no. 3 overall as of the most recent rankings). If Penn State manages to flip Denmark in their favor, that would be a nice boost for the Nittany Lions and would likely result in a swap with Oregon in the rankings.
