Rejoice, Critical Role fans, for your prayers have been answered!
On Wednesday, Amazon Studios announced a multiyear TV and first-look film deal with Critical Role, the media company behind the popular actual play Dungeons & Dragons web series. The deal comes fresh off the heels of the success of The Legend of Vox Machina, an animated series based off of Critical Role‘s first streamed campaign.
And now, Critical Role‘s animated offerings are set to grow, as Amazon also has greenlit a new series, Mighty Nein, based off of the show’s second campaign that ran from 2018 to 2021. The Critical Role team released a tantalizing teaser on Twitter to announce the news.

For many fans, Critical Role‘s second campaign featuring the Mighty Nein was their first introduction to the show and, as such, it holds a special place in their hearts. As a long-time Critical Role fan myself, given how much attention and care The Legend of Vox Machina has gotten, I cannot wait to see what the team has in store for this lovable group of misfits.
Critical Role fans were absolutely thrilled with the news of a Mighty Nein animated series.
