The Dallas Cowboys are gearing up for their first divisional game of the season, the Week 5 matchup with the New York Giants. Neither team will be at full strength, because it’s football and nearly no one ever is, but the inactive lists have been released ahead of kickoff.
For the Cowboys there are no surprises, nor are there any players who will be sorely missed. The most unfortunate one is the continued inactive status of rookie defensive back Reggie Robinson, who has yet to make the gameday roster. Active, however, is fellow rookie DT Neville Gallimore who has been inactive each of the last two weeks.

Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence is active as planned. The knee injury that’s kept him from being 100% didn’t limit him in practice at all this week according to reports, but his health is something that will bear monitoring over time. He has yet to a sack this season, in fact, the last full sack he was credited for was against these same Giants in November of 2019.
For the visitors from New York, they’ll be nearly at full strength, injured reserved notwithstanding. Safety Jabril Peppers is indeed active despite being limited with an ankle throughout the week’s practices.

For both teams, the inactive list paints a much nicer picture than what is reality. Both teams are missing considerable star power and contributors. The Dallas injured reserve has been well documented as the team has been shorthanded and handicapped for the entirety of the season, adding Tyron Smith and Joe Looney just this week.
The other sideline will be missing some familiar faces as the Giants are of course without running back Saquon Barkley who is out for the year. Wide receiver Sterling Shepherd is at least a week away from return as well. Linebacker Oshane Ximines was just added to injured list as well and will miss at least three games.
