Cowboys star Micah Parsons says Dan Quinn will turn the Commanders around

Micah Parsons believes Dan Quinn will turn Washington into a winner.

It’s no secret that Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons loves Dan Quinn. The new Washington Commanders head coach was a significant influence on Parsons through the first three seasons of his NFL career, identifying what Parsons did best and unleashing him.

The result: Parsons is one of the NFL’s best players.

Parsons joked last month that if Quinn left his role as Cowboys defensive coordinator for a head coaching position elsewhere, he may go with him. He was joking, of course.

So, when the Commanders hired Quinn, Parsons’ former college teammate — Commanders WR Jahan Dotson — jokingly recruited Parsons to follow Quinn to Washington.

Parsons would discuss Quinn at last week’s Pro Bowl Games, telling Washington players to take care of his guy.

Parsons wasn’t done heaping praise on Washington’s new coach. At Super Bowl festivities in Las Vegas this week, he spoke to Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports and predicted big things for the Commanders.

“I would say it was already a competitive division,” Parsons said of the NFC East. “He’s just adding an extra piece to it. He’s going to turn that Commanders’ team around, and I’m super excited to go against him.”

That’s music to the ears of long-suffering Washington fans.

Quinn’s work will be cut out in 2023, but he’s known to turn things around quickly. The Commanders were the NFL’s worst defense in 2023 and have nowhere to go but up.
