Cowboys QB Dak Prescott’s grandmother dies

“I’ll forever be Thankful 4 You,” Cowboys QB Dak Prescott wrote.

Dak Prescott’s maternal grandmother, Margaret Ebarb, died. The Cowboys QB announced the news of her death on Friday. He shared photos of his grandmother on his Instagram story recently.

“I promise to Make you Proud!” read one, in part. “I’ll forever be Thankful 4 You,” read another.

Todd Brock, who writes for our friends at Cowboys Wire, wrote: “Ebarb was instrumental in helping Dak and his siblings after their mother (and Ebarb’s daughter), Peggy, lost her battle with colon cancer in 2013.”

This news comes as Prescott deals with the uncertainty surrounding his injury status for the Vikings’ Week 8 matchup. He is currently listed as questionable with a calf strain for Sunday’s game.

It’s always hard to talk about something like a football-related injury when discussing the death of a family member. All that is to say: the Cowboys’ star quarterback and the rest of his family are dealing with a lot.
