Not all heroes wear capes. Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has made his return to the field after a gruesome compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle that ended his 2020 campaign in Week 5. His progress has been an amazing thing to see and has inspired his teammates for the 2021 season.
The former fourth-round pick has inspired someone else recently, but this time it’s away from the football field. Megan Chichoki, co-host of the “CowboysNChaos” podcast with Kelly Christiansen, and staunch Prescott supporter took to Twitter on Monday expressing her desire to meet Prescott someday so that she could thank him for inspiring her through tough times.
On Tuesday, Prescott gave her a message of a lifetime.
“Stay Strong and Embrace those tough Dark moments! You’ll find out how Strong you are! https://t.co/Pzndv7oOCL
— Dak Prescott (@dak) June 29, 2021
Once Chichoki got wind of Prescott’s response, she was overwhelmed with joy, to say the least.
Nothing I say right now will justify how this feels. How do you even respond when your hero talks to you?
I’m crying. I’m shaking. I’m smiling. This is one of the most profound days of my life. You saved me again and again. Thank you so much. THANK YOU 💙 https://t.co/r5vo3dCNPx

“I’m still sitting along side of the [road]. Crying,” Chicocki then tweeted. “I had to pull over.”
These are the moments that validate why the Cowboys are such believers in Prescott. It’s not just that he’s a great player on the field, it’s about who he is as a person and the way he touches people’s lives. That’s the kind of guy any franchise would want leading their football team.
As he approaches the first year of his four-year, $160 million deal, nobody would blame Prescott for having tunnel vision and focusing on getting the Cowboys back to the playoffs for the first time since 2018. However, that’s not who he is. No matter the circumstances, Prescott is selfless and makes time so that he can put smiles on the faces of those who support him the most.
Kudos to Prescott for this one.
