The week has not started off well for the Dallas Cowboys when it comes to injury news. What had been feared privately become public knowledge when the team announced that neither special teams ace C.J. Goodwin nor starting middle linebacker Leighton Vander Esch would be able to return from their injuries this season.

The blow got bigger when the news was attached to the possibility that Vander Esch’s latest neck injury could keep him off the field permanently. That potential focuses the risk these players take on a weekly basis. On Wednesday though the injury news took a turn for the better when, despite having a handful of active players nursing injuries, they named them all full participants for the start of Carolina prep.

Not only that, but one of the other players who has been on injured reserve for a while, is returning to the practice field. TE Peyton Hendershot has entered his 21-day practice window. Here’s a look at the initial injury report for Dallas and the Panthers.
