The Dallas Cowboys have seen enough of kicker Brett Maher. They cut Maher Monday and have signed Kai Forbath to try and find a way to get the ball between the uprights on field-goal attempts.

Maher was 20-for-30 on field goals this season after going 1-of 2 Thursday in the loss to the Chicago Bears. The 10 misses are more than any other NFL kicker has had in a season the past four years. He was 11-of-21 from outside 30 yards.
Maher signed a 2-year, $1,050,000 contract with the Dallas Cowboys in 2018, including an average annual salary of $525,000. He played in the CFL before replacing veteran Dan Bailey in Dallas.

Forbath played college ball at UCLA. Coincidentally, he was first signed by the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent in 2011, Forbath spent his rookie season on injured reserve. He has since kicked for Washington, New Orleans, Minnesota and Jacksonville.
