Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence talks about facing Vikings RB Dalvin Cook

The Dallas Cowboys defense will have its hands full with Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook on Sunday.

Despite high expectations at that start of the year, the Dallas Cowboys have struggled in 2020.

Dak Prescott went down with an injury, and what was a high-octane offense became an inconsistent one. The Cowboys needed to score a lot of points, too, considering how bad the defense has been.

According to ESPN, the Cowboys have given up the most points per game in the NFL. Against the Browns, for instance, the defense gave up 307 rushing yards. Browns running back Nick Chubb had 7.2 yards per carry before going down with an injury.

Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence thinks Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is even better than Chubb and Cleveland running back Kareem Hunt.

“We feel like it’s pretty similar,” Lawrence said, via NFL.com’s Kevin Patra. “We feel like Dalvin Cook is a more elite back just by his skills and how he can cut the ball back at any moment on you, but we feel like we’re going to see mostly the same scheme and that’s it.”

It’s safe to say that the Cowboys defense will have a tall task when it comes to stopping Cook. If Minnesota can control the ball with Cook and Alexander Mattison, the Dallas offense, without Prescott, might not be able to get back in the game.
