Cowboys are likely to release Amari Cooper; Should the Eagles have interest?

The #NFCEast rival #Dallas #Cowboys are expected to release wide receiver Amari Cooper, and with #Philadelphia in need of a veteran presence, should the #Eagles have interest in the former #Alabama star?

The Cowboys need to shred salary, and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Dallas is likely to release star wide receiver Amari Cooper by the start of the new league year.

Cooper still has three seasons remaining on the five-year, $100 million contract extension he signed in March 2020, and he’s due to make $20 million in base salary that becomes fully guaranteed on March 20.

Releasing Cooper before June 1 would save the Cowboys $16 million in cap space.

The league’s highest-paid receiver in 2021, Cooper finished the regular season with 68 catches for 865-receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
