COVID-19 protocols shelve Clemson OC Tony Elliott

COVID-19 protocols will keep Clemson OC Tony Elliott home for the Sugar Bowl

Clemson will be without its offensive coordinator, Tony Elliott, for its College Football Playoff semifinal against Ohio State due to COVID-19 protocols.

Elliott is not traveling with the team when it leaves for New Orleans on Wednesday. The Tigers and Buckeyes play in the Sugar Bowl with the winner advancing to the national title game against the winner of Alabama-Notre Dame.

Elliott won the Broyles Award given to the best assistant coach in college football in 2016. With Elliott out, passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brandon Streeter will likely take over play-calling duties.
