The Vikings announced on Tuesday morning that five players will be added to the Pro Bowl roster as injury replacements.
Those five are:
QB, Kirk Cousins
FB, C.J. Ham
DE, Everson Griffen
LB, Eric Kendricks
CB, Xavier Rhodes
Those five will join defensive end Danielle Hunter, running back Dalvin Cook and safety Harrison Smith as Vikings in the Pro Bowl.
Three quick observations from this:
- Kendricks should have made it to begin with, which is why you shouldn’t take the Pro Bowl too serious. Kendricks was already named to the All-Pro team.
- The fact that Rhodes made it, yikes. The 2019 season for Rhodes was not only the worst of his career, but Rhodes was one of the worst corners in all of football this season. There were plenty of candidates who were more deserving.
- This is Cousins’ second Pro Bowl appearance and first with the Vikings. While Cousins’ 3,603 passing yards were a career-low as a full-time starter, his 107.4 QB rating was a career high.
