Cousins is 79th in PFF top players of 2019 rankings

Cousins ranked above players like Aaron Rodgers, Deshaun Watson and Dak Prescott.

The 2019 season had its ups and downs for Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Ultimately, though, he had a solid season and gave the Vikings a playoff win. It’s not the Super Bowl, sure, but it’s better than how 2018 ended.

In Pro Football Focus’ end-of-the-season rankings, Cousins finished as the 79th best player.

Cousins finished with a PFF grade of 84.1. That mark is a career-high and a 4.8 improvement from Cousins’ grade last season. He ranked as the league’s sixth-best quarterback, above players like Aaron Rodgers, Deshaun Watson and Dak Prescott.

Cousins finished the season with 3,603 passing yards and 26 touchdowns. Both of those numbers are down from a season ago, but Cousins did average a career-high 8.7 yards per attempt and 11.7 yards per completion, an improvement of 1.6 from last season.

Judging Cousins is always tricky, especially for Vikings fans. He’s clearly one of the better quarterbacks in the league, but his play has been rollercoaster-like over the years.

The 2020 season will be an important one for Cousins as he enters the final year of his three-year, $84 million deal.
