Cousins and Thielen left off of list of top QB WR combos for 2020

If not for an injury-riddled 2019 season from Adam Thielen, you’d think the Vikings duo would be on this list.

Gil Brandt over at NFL.com listed his top-10 quarterback and wide receiver duos heading into the 2020 season.

Not on the list were Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and wide receiver Adam Thielen.

Should they be? There’s probably an argument to be made with Philip Rivers and T.Y. Hilton on the list (who have yet to play with each other), along with Matthew Stafford Kenny Golladay on the list.

In 26 games together, Cousins has connected with Thielen 143 times for 1,791 yards and 15 touchdowns. It’s worth noting that Thielen has hampered by a hamstring injury much of last season and played in just 10 games.

Just by looking at the depth chart, you can probably expect a big 2020 season from Thielen. He’ll surely get the opportunities considering he’s the team’s only proven wide receiver.
