Could the Boston Celtics be done making moves ahead of the NBA’s 2024 trade deadline set to arrive this afternoon? One prominent NBA reporter believes it could be the case. Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer relates that barring “a surprise, sounds like Boston is done making moves before today’s 3 p.m. ET trade deadline.”
Earlier rumbles hinted that the Celtics might still be up to make moves after sending Lamar Stevens and a pair of second round picks to the Memphis Grizzlies for the contract of Grizzlies backup big man Xavier Tillman, Sr. a full day ahead of the 2024 deadline.
But this new reporting hints that they may be satisfied with where the roster is at, that they may be dissatisfied with the quality of offers out there and are using the media to negotiate — or both.
