Could Michigan be getting another 2022 commit soon?

The 2022 offensive tackle from Colorado has locked in a commitment date just after taking a self-guided visit to Ann Arbor.

Just days ago, after some time without much movement in the 2022 recruiting class, Michigan football seems poised to add to its commitment list. In-state three-star defensive tackle Davonte Miles made his pledge on Friday, and it now appears that another target is primed to make a decision sooner than later.

Fresh off the heels of a self-guided visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend, 2022 Monument (CO) Palmer Ridge three-star offensive tackle Connor Jones announced via Twitter that he’s made his college choice. Having called Michigan a dream school when he was offered, the academically-minded recruit shared his criteria with WolverinesWire back in September:

“I really want a school that has a good atmosphere and feels good to me,” Jones said. “I want a school that feels like I belong there. I want it to feel like a home, not like an institute. And really I just want a place I can really excel in my academics, because my plan B is sports medicine, and that’s how I’m gonna stay close to the game if I don’t make it all the way to the NFL.”

Jones plans to announce his choice on Thursday.

At the moment, Jones has but a handful of offers, including Colorado State, Indiana, New Mexico, Northwestern, Oregon State, Virginia and West Virginia. The 247Sports Crystal Ball is at 100% Michigan with two predictions while Rivals’ FutureCast has one vote in for the Wolverines as well.

Jones is listed at 6-foot-7 and 285-pounds and is rated as the No. 774 prospect in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite.
