Mekhi Becton is a massive human being, and as the new Eagle works to re-establish himself in the NFL, he could end up permanently switching positions.
Becton is versatile and has been taking snaps at the left and right guard spots when Landon Dickerson and Tyler Steen haven’t been in the lineup. Becton was signed to be the backup right tackle behind Lane Johnson, but could the former Louisville star permanently transition to offensive guard?

During Day 4 of Eagles training camp practice, Becton was the right guard instead of the right tackle, and Tyler Steen and Lane Johnson were injured.
Biggest takeaway from lineup today is that with Lane Johnson and Tyler Steen absent, the Eagles chose to play Mekhi Becton at RG.
Swing tackle is important role — especially considering Lane Johnson’s value to the team — but Eagles are serious about evaluating Becton at guard.

It’s Steen’s job to lose, but the 6-foot-7 and 363-pound Becton will have every opportunity to earn reps and restart his career in Philadelphia.
