It was a shocking turn of events in the 2020 NFL draft for a certain NFL franchise. The Philadelphia Eagles used a second-round pick on Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Jalen Hurts. Not a shock that the team would address quarterback but more that they used a premium top 60 pick to do so. The team could have used some help on the offensive line or wide receivers to help out their quarterback.
This offseason has already been a wild one in the NFL before it has even officially begun. The offseason starts following this weekend’s Super Bowl game. That didn’t stop the Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions from getting a deal in place to swap quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff, along with a slew of draft picks. The second major blockbuster trade could involve current Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.
Eagles are expected to trade Carson Wentz in the coming days in what would be the latest blockbuster QB deal to rock the NFL, sources tell @mortreport and me. The most pertinent questions now become where, when and for what. But it could happen as early as this week.

Provided that this is indeed the case and Wentz is dealt, it could mean that Jalen Hurts could be one of three former Oklahoma quarterbacks to be the starter when the 2021 NFL season kicks off. Hurts with the Eagles would join Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray. That is not only huge for the former Heisman runner up but huge for Lincoln Riley on the recruiting trail.
Not that he needs much help after landing a top running back commitment on Friday in Raleek Brown. He can sell to potential quarterbacks that he can get them from college quarterback to starter in the NFL. A huge reason why they have landed the top quarterback in two of the previous three recruiting cycles with Spencer Rattler and Caleb Williams.
Who has next? It could be Malachi Nelson of Los Alamitos, California, or maybe it is Arch Manning of Isidore Newman.
