In wake of the coronavirus outbreak affecting countries across the globe — including the U.S. — the public has been asked to practice mindful hygiene like washing your hands and avoiding touching your face.
And, well, Anthony Davis is finally realizing that licking his hand as part of a handshake with Lakers teammate Avery Bradley is a terrible idea.
A video made rounds on Twitter over the weekend showing Davis lick his hand, shake hands with Bradley who then proceeded to touch his mouth and high-five LeBron James. It was exactly the kind of sequence that would have health officials shaking their heads.

Thankfully, Davis is going to stop the handshake. He told reporters on Tuesday that he was rethinking the routine because it was … “disgusting.”
Anthony Davis said he had a moment where he rethought a high-five routine he does with Avery Bradley where he licks his hand. With the looming threat of COVID-19, he realized: "It's disgusting."

You don’t say …
Honestly, it’s kind of shocking that Davis and Bradley choreographed a handshake that involved someone licking their hand in the first place. The video initially just seemed like Davis being gross without thinking about it, but, no, that whole shake was planned!
I think everyone will be glad to see it come to an end.
