Coach Mark Stoops and his staff have been active in addressing the secondary in the 2025 recruiting class, adding two three star players in Andrew Purcell and Demarcus Gardner. They also added safety Martels Carter. Now, they’re predicted to land another cornerback in Dawayne Galloway.
Galloway is rated four stars by 247sports and is the 122nd ranked player overall in their composite rankings. The 6’1″, 175 speedster is the 13th ranked cornerback in the class, and the sixth player from Ohio.

It’s been a busy week for Galloway, who visited Syracuse and Penn State before coming to Lexington on Friday. He also had a number of offers from other programs, including the Tennessee Volunteers of the SEC.
The Columbus, Ohio product is projected by both 247sports and On3 to commit to Kentucky. He would be a very good addition to the team, and someone who could be an elite player down the line.
