Corey Linsley, Jaire Alexander earn Packers’ highest PFF grades for Week 2

Packers center Corey Linsley and CB Jaire Alexander earned the team’s highest PFF grades for Week 2 against the Lions.

The Green Bay Packers got elite performances from center Corey Linsley and cornerback Jaire Alexander during Sunday’s Week 2 win over the Detroit Lions.

The two earned the top individual grades for the Packers at Pro Football Focus this week.

Linsley helped power the Packers’ dominant production in the run game before exiting with a hand injury. The Packers produced six runs of 10 or more yards on runs between the two guards, including a 75-yard touchdown run from Aaron Jones. Linsley had the week’s highest grade among NFL centers entering Monday night.

Alexander shut down Lions receiver Marvin Jones. He gave up four total completions for just 19 yards, broke up a pass and had a stop on Jamal Agnew over 33 coverage snaps. Alexander earned the second-highest overall grade among cornerbacks in Week 2.

Linsley has the highest run-blocking grade among NFL centers and hasn’t allowed a single pressure over 147 total snaps through two games.

Like Linsley, Alexander is the highest-graded cornerback through two games.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was the highest-graded quarterback in Week 2 and has the highest overall grade among quarterbacks through two games. Rodgers didn’t have outstanding final numbers against the Lions but he was hurt by four drops.

Linsley, Alexander and Rodgers all made PFF’s Team of the Week for Week 2 entering Monday night’s game.
