Cordarrelle Patterson begins his recruitment of Russell Wilson to Bears

Cordarrelle Patterson is no stranger to reaching out to players to come to the Bears. His latest recruitment is Seahawks QB Russell Wilson.

There’s been no better general manager for the Chicago Bears than All-Pro Cordarrelle Patterson, who hasn’t shied away from reaching out to players around the league to come to Chicago.

Patterson’s latest recruitment comes on the heels of the report that Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson would accept a trade to the Bears. While Wilson’s agent insists that he wants to play for the Seahawks, he also made it known that Chicago is one of four other teams that he would consider playing for.

Which got Patterson’s — and teammate Tarik Cohen’s — attention. Patterson took to Twitter to make it clear that he would welcome Wilson in Chicago. He changed his profile picture to one of him and Wilson, as well as reached out to Wilson saying, “heard you were looking for a way out.”

Wilson is the latest quarterback to be mentioned in conjunction with the Bears, which isn’t a surprise given how general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy’s jobs are hanging in the balance.

Still, the Seahawks trading Wilson remains a pipe dream. But now that Wilson has made it clear he’d want to come to Chicago among other destinations, Pace should be hounding Seattle with phone calls and offering the house for Wilson.

Interestingly, Patterson himself is also set to become a free agent next month. But you have to believe the Bears will try to re-sign him — at the right price — to keep their lone All-Pro — and best recruiter — on the roster.
